computer artist

"I create theses pictures because I need the experience... they express what I am feeling and help explore to my own subconscious. Some of theses images come to me in dreams. I can now say that I know myself better for this experience. It is for me a kind of therapy ."

Born in 1970, Correia is a French artist living in Bordeaux. He originally started using computers solely for playing games and didn't practice "art" until 1993 when he acquired 3D studio software. He is self-taught from perseverance, experimentation and research in the graphics domain. Correia started to use the computer to create pictures but it took a long time to find his own touch. Now his work expresses himself completely. For him the experience has been enlightening and created better employment opportunity. Correia has been working as a graphic artist for a gaming company since 1997.

"For each artwork I make a layout and preview on paper from which to place the all the elements of the scene. Then I start to modellise each element with 3D Studio. When I need a special texture I take photographs and scan them for digital files to work from. Then I create the atmosphere with the renderer POV or 3DS . While composing, I arrange the lighting and fog where it is needed to create the atmosphere I desire".

I was not an artist before my experience with 3D programs and I didn't make art school. I've have since started to paint with acrylics and hope to exhibit my work soon."
