"Blue Wolf" has been painted on layered canvas. Denton has developed a layering and bonding technique to work from within the surface of his paintings in order to create greater depth and color.

Denton received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Pratt Institute in New York. After working many years as a commercial illustrator, Denton became a serious painter of Western, Native American, wildlife, and visionary themes.
